Circus in Winter Reflection:

The gypies in this story make me think of my middle school students at some points. They push every button they can think of and then use any means possible to back out of the trouble they find themselves in.
All in all the parallel between the main character and the gypies is interesting in this sense because he comes off as being responsible and yet a child at heart himself. His dreams of going off and traveling, being free like they are gives credence to his apparent leniency.
All in all I was just less impressed with the descriptions and the actions in this story than in previous ones in the book.
