Circus People

Circus in Winter Reflection:

This is a good story to end the book on. It ties everything together nicely and finishes the transition between past and present in the descriptions of circus life.
I do however wish we could have had a little more detail about the circus in the book. It centered mostly on the characters which is how each story developed but a more appropriate title might have been the one for the last story.
The story itself is amazing. It breaks your heart just like every other story that Cathy Day writes. But at the same time it reveals a lesson that we all realize. Home is never really home again once you leave. Life goes on without you and even though it stays mostly the same it will never be the same to you again because you are different. Jenny learns this and it's specifically highlighted with talks of Laura and how she left.
